Local Authors column

Local Authors represents a solution to a dilemma. The Journal was inundated with books and press releases from mid-Hudson Valley authors looking for a write-up. Unfortunately, the paper didn’t run in-house reviews, and there was only so much space for full stories. I created the Local Authors feature that showcased the authors’ works and built a rapport with the publishing community that helped keep entries coming. Many of the showcases led to full stories. Fifteen years later, the Journal still runs the feature.
